Job Description

One of our clients in Toronto, ON is searching for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract to start. Highly extendable position and could turn into a long term opportunity.

Your accountabilities will be: 

  • Develop, validate, and manage test cases and test scripts.
  • Exercise necessary controls over testbeds, access, test facilities, and tools and testing support systems.
  • Execute quality control (manual and automated) tests at the systems level, ranging over sanity, full functional coverage, integration and regression.
  • Conduct testing in compliance with established procedures.
  • Document discovered problems; perform analysis to assist with determination of a defect or bug; work as required with other teams on analysis efforts; and, perform re-test of solved and fixed problems.
  • Capture test outcomes, document test plan results; and, issue summary test reports.
  • Report status & progress of testing activity including regular review of problems / defects; escalate issues or situations affecting quality, progress, or schedule.
  • Produce and maintain quality test documentation.
  • Ensure commitments to external or internal customers are met in a timely manner.
  • Solicit feedback in order to improve work products, testing services, test coverage, and effectiveness of testing.

Your qualifications/ competencies are:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience (3+ years) in a functional testing role
  • Must possess and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance at Level II (Secret) or above.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen
  • Exposure and experience with a structured Systems / Services Life-Cycle Development process
  • Exposure to a variety of test methodologies, and knowledge of a core of QA best practices.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in deriving testing strategies, determining required test coverage, and developing test plans based on requirements and (architectural, functional, and design) specifications.
  • Familiarity and some capability and competence with common and industry-standard test execution and test management tools and support systems (HP ALM, HP QTP)
  • Ability to work either independently or as part of a team; appropriately exercising time management and flexibility to effectively prioritize and ensure completion of work; and, ability to change priorities as the need arises.
