Job Description
One of our meat industry clients is looking to fill a 6 month (to start) contract role, to ensure customer and food quality standards are being met in their meat warehouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completing pre-op inspections
- Complete QC packaging inspection log – CCP-1C
- Verifying correct labels are being applied to product and by initialing each label applied to the role of label check sheet record – CCP-1C
- Confirming and recording defrosting procedures
- Ensures monitoring standards and task instructions are being performed (i.e. proper spices used and as per Allergen Control Program)
- Temperature recording of meat production and storage areas
- Recording weight checks from each production line
- Verifying Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are being followed
- Taking shelf life product samples
- Doing inline check weights
- Verify labels and spice units received at receiving when QA Manager is absent
- Liaison with supervisors, employees and managers regarding quality and foods safety issues throughout production and the plant
- Other food safety and quality related tasks as needed
- Be aware of food safety and quality expectations relevant to your position and actively consider them in daily practices
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 – 4 years of experience in a similar role; preferable experience in food/meat processing or related industry
- Food plant experience is a must
- Good oral and written English skills
- Relevant post-secondary education/training
- Superior observation skills and attention to detail
- Technical certification in Quality or Food Safety is desirable
- Reliability, good attendance, and ability to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays
