Job Description
One of our clients is seeking 2 qualified and experienced Material Handlers to join their team (1) for a day shift, and (1) for an afternoon shift.
- Responsibilities:
- Moving totes and pallets of product to and from production areas safely via walkie power-jack
- Movement of combo totes and pallets of meat products throughout the plant
- Assists Inventory Controller and Shipping Supervisor in organizing product in coolers and materials and supplies in dry storage rooms
- Assists in daily product inventory counts, ensures FIFO product movement, and maintains overall inventory by identifying, labelling, and placing materials in stock
- Maintain required HACCP and SQF food safety documentation
- Utilization of RF Scanner and MRP software to track product movement
- Must tolerate cold-room environment (0°C – 4°C)
- Other related duties as assigned by Management
- Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years warehouse, manufacturing product-movement experience
- Experienced power-jack operator. Forklift operator a plus
- Reliable, punctual, available for overtime when needed
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Certified (or previously certified) and skilled in operating power-jack walkies
- Grade 12 minimum with strong math and computer skills
- Proficiency in English; speak, read and write
- Ability to work independently without regular supervision
- Must be physically fit, occasionally required to lift cartons up to 27 kg
- Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods of time
- Constant walking throughout the work shift
- Food plant experience is a definite asset
- Experience:
- Warehouse: 2 years (Preferred)
- Food Plant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Material Handler: 1 year (Preferred)
- Day and afternoon shifts are Monday to Friday. Some regular overtime including occasional Saturdays.
- Salary: $16.83-$18.62 per hour
